I'm switching to dollar coins.
When I first received 17 of them as change from a parking garage, I was annoyed. Not as annoyed, I guess, when I found out they were indeed dollars rather than quarters, as I initially thought when they started spilling out of the machine onto the ground, but annoyed nonetheless. I tried to pay for some Chinese food with them, but soon found this to be more of a pain than one might think. To a...

I'm turning Irish.
I said “eye” instead of “yes”  unintentionally to 3 different customers at work today. There’s no explanation for it.

Got out of work early. Bought a new(er) car. Pickin’ er up tomorrow. Found out I have an A+ credit rating, much to my surprise and enjoyment. Bowled a few games with some fine friends. DIDN’T have my broken car towed,...

You can see it in everything: gravity, temperature, seasons, magnetic fields, etc - the slightest change in any of these things invariably affects any number of incomprehensible natural processes. And we are all part of it too. We’re...

RIP Mildred
Mildred passed away this evening… she will be deeply missed. She was the greatest. never did nobody no wrong, never hurt a soul. She wasn’t my first, but I loved her more than I’ve ever loved any one before her. She kept me warm on many cold winter nights, and was always there when I needed her- rain or shine,  She even knew what song to put on to cheer me up. We had some good...

If a baby is looking at you,
don’t make eye contact with it, unless you’re prepared to have it stare at you for an hour.
